Broomfields Junior School is a member of The Challenge Academy Trust (TCAT) which is a multi-academy Trust with 12 academies within the Warrington local authority area. Legally, TCAT is the Admissions Authority for all its member academies and has developed Admission Arrangements which ensures all academies within the Trust have a unified approach to admissions whilst ensuring the individual character of each academy is maintained.
All state-funded schools have a set of admissions rules, published admission number and oversubscription criteria to help them process school applications consistently, transparently and fairly in accordance with the 2021 School Admissions Code.
TCAT has appointed WBC to administer admission procedures on its behalf for all TCAT Warrington Academies

In-Year Transfers (Changing Schools Mid-Year)
An in-year transfer occurs when a student transfers schools outside of normal admission periods, such as when a family moves home.
If considering an in-year transfer for reasons other than relocation, we recommend discussing options with the school admissions team first.

Once you have contacted the school admissions team, a school leader will be happy to arrange a school visit for you and your child.

Currently, pupils normally transfer to Broomfields Junior School from Cobbs Infant and Nursery School having reached their seventh birthday by the 31st August. However, the policy has changed for pupils applying for entry in September 2025. All pupils for September 2025 will have to apply using an application form – you will find a Word version and a PDF verson in the documents above, for your use.
