Pupil premium
At Broomfields Junior School we believe that every child should be given the opportunity to reach their full potential, regardless of ability level, race, gender or cultural background. We are committed to each child's personal well-being and academic success. We have high aspirations for our children and firmly believe that no child should be left behind.
Pupil Premium is a sum of money given to schools each year by the Government to improve the attainment of disadvantaged children and we plan and budget this money carefully to have maximum effect. Research shows that pupils from deprived backgrounds underachieve compared to their non-deprived peers. The premium is provided to school to ‘close the gap’ in attainment and progress.
Children that qualify for pupil premium are:
- Children who are eligible for free school meals (FSM)
- Looked after children
- Armed forces children
From April 2014 additional pupils were included:
- Adopted Children
- Children under Special Guardianship on or after 30 December 2005
- Children under a Residence Order on or after 14th October 1991
If you are not currently in receipt of pupil premium funding and you believe you are entitled to claim, then please contact Mrs Boyle, 01925 265297 for further information and details on how to apply.
